In this hands-on workshop we’ll be exploring the radical intersections that unite zines & writing. We’ll talk about the vitlal role zines play in subcultures, and reflecting upon their impact within feminist & queer movements. And create our own personal zines or poetry postcards!

The workshop

During the workshop you'll be guided through wirting exercises, and given materials to produce your own handmade zine or poetry postcard using techniques including collage. You’ll also learn a bit about the signiciance of zines, particularly within feminist and queer movements and the radical interplay between writing and zines.

This workshop is suitable for beginners, no creative writing experience is necessary. All materials will be provided for you.

About the host

Manganaro is an award-winning poet, performer, and workshpo facilitator. They are passionate about uplifting the grassroots creative community, and their writing explores themes of identity, bilingual experience, and everyday nuances, drawing on the personal side of political.
